For sale is a 1975 Honda CB550. The bike has approximately 22K miles on it. I say approximately because I replaced the gauges with another set. I still have the original set of gauges if interested.
The bike currently runs well when warmed up. If it's been sitting in the cold for a couple weeks, it needs quite a few kicks to fire up and about 5 minutes warm up. I normally keep the battery on a 'trickle charger' which helps the process. The electric starter works when it's warm and the battery is fully charged.
I have owned the bike for about 5 years and enjoyed cleaning it up. The inside of the tank has been cleaned and is rust free, the frame has been touched up with paint, I repainted the tank and side fenders (please note the bike is missing one side fender (stolen)). You can pick up a side fender on ebay for $20 and I have leftover paint and clear coat to match.
The carbs were rebuilt about 3 years ago with new pod air filters. I have replaced the shocks with low profile shocks which gives the bike a nice look. Cafe bars are on the bike. The rear brake drum works well and I have rebuilt the front brake with new cables. I also installed a new clutch cable. Tires are in good shape. The headlight is 5 years old.
Basically, the bike needs a few more things done to it but that's what an old CB550 is for. It's not perfect, but will definitely get noticed on the street. I also have some additional parts and a manual (including a nice cafe license plate holder valued at $100).
